Heart
A HEART FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Although a city, Fort Worth is made up of neighborhoods and communities. Each neighborhood is comprised of schools, parks, work places and local hang outs, unique to the culture that surround it. These neighborhoods in Fort Worth need a faithful, Gospel presence and Gospel witness among them. We are not looking from another city for the best place to plant a church - we are in Fort Worth, begging God to do something in our neighborhood and with our neighbors. The sheer number of people moving to the city gives us capacity, but our friends give us conviction. This conviction is that there is a church in our neighborhood that loves its neighbors and invites them to the dinner table and the communion table.
Vision
CELEBRATING THE GOSPEL IN EVERYTHING WE DO
The Gospel is good news of the kingdom of God. Neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. If this is not worth celebrating and returning to constantly to celebrate, then we are people to be pitied. This life is a celebration because we are bought by blood of Christ, by the will of God, through the Spirit of God. This grace gives us purpose to celebrate what God has done.
Mission
WE EXIST TO CREATE COMMUNITIES OF DISCIPLES WHO LOVE JESUS AND LIVE FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.
Learning to love Jesus is not too complicated, but to actually love Jesus with our whole hearts, minds, and strengths is much more difficult. This is not simply a matter of knowledge, but our whole selves embracing a King who is worthy of our whole lives. It is a matter of our affections and actions molded by time with the Lord Himself. This leads us to the primary way discipleship happens, with people who love Jesus to help others love Jesus. Our discipleship must include a few key ingredients. Modeled by Christ Himself, we need to call people to (and live by) obedience to Christ and His word. We also need time. One thing our programs, structures, and culture usually do not allow for is the time needed for properly molding our minds into the form of God’s holiness. Our strategy is for us to love Jesus, but is to also enjoy Him, know Him, and be known by Him. We develop that with one another through Sunday worship, home gatherings, coffee shop meet ups, time alone in prayer and solitude, hanging out in the backyard, and along the way as Jesus did with His disciples. We want to call people to follow, but also walk with them as we follow the Lord together. God has built, and is building, a family that make up His everlasting Kingdom. We are compelled by the joy we have in Him. Our rhythms make this possible as we navigate His Kingdom in us and pray that it fills our neighborhoods as the waters cover the earth. 1 Pet. 2.5, Mt. 28.18-20.
Values
Our values give a glimpse into our heart for Jesus, one another, and everyone else. We hope that these shape all that we do.
